Keirsten Proulx

Gymnastics & Dance Coordinator

Keirsten joined the Ashland YMCA Gymnastics Program 2 years ago. She has been involved in the gymnastics community for 15 years. She spent 11 years competing in private club and has been coaching for a total of 8 years. Keirsten has experience coaching levels 2-8 in both club and YMCA programs and is also a USAG certified coach & judge. She has helped athletes to several state and regional championships and is the assistant coach for Ontario, Ashland, and Mansfield high school gymnastics. Keirsten is currently pursuing a degree in Health Services Technology with a specialization in Surgical Tech.

Brittany Wentworth 

Dance Instructor 

Brittany began dancing at the young age of 3. She was a part of the Ashland Regional Ballet company located within Opus II Dance Studio while she was in high school. After graduating, Brittany went on to receive a degree in Adolescent to Young Adult Integrated Social Studies from the University of Akron. She also has a minor in dance. Brittany began teaching dance while in College. Brittany has experience working with children of all ages. She substituted at schools in the area for many years and now resides in Ashland with her family of 6. Brittany is excited to share her love and extensive knowledge of dance with the Ashland community. 

Abbi Hynek

Dance Instructor 

Abby Hynek danced at Opus II Dance Studio for 9 years until she was 16. Even though she stopped dancing, she has always had a heart for it. Abbi taught young dancers at Opus for a few years and after graduating high school, she attended the University of Akron Wayne for 2 years. Abbi has worked at the Ashland YMCA since she was 16, helping in the child watch and after-school child care. Abbi has a passion for dance and a big heart for kids - we're lucky to have her in the dance program as well!
